Many Happy Returns Curt Smith!

It is 4 or 5 in the morning…it could be later and a few of us really have no idea. We’ve been pre-gaming and partying, celebrating Curt Smith since 1:15pm yesterday! It’s Curt’s Birthday! That means a ritual skittles shower and a big slice of Blum’s Coffee Crunch Cake! Recently Curt shared photos of he and his daughters attending what looked to be an animated red carpet event in every sense of the word for the movie Despicable Me 4. Rumour has it there’s a Tears for Fears treat in it. Let’s all make a plan to go see it!

We had a fun online party as mentioned. Here are the highlights!

In additional to celebrating Curt, we’re also excited about all the new music in the band camp literally and figuratively. Lauren’s new album will be released today. Be sure to BUY IT and STREAM IT! We’re doing both these days! As you can see, it is titled AFFIRMATIONS: BOOK ONE. We are looking forward to exploring this later today!

The Upside Down Clinic with Captain Julian and Jon Birch have new music as well. Their latest release is called Clowns. It’s perfect timing that this is out for so many reasons…we need not be specific, just look around the world. Absolute and unnecessary tomfoolery by the adults in charge. Soothe yourself with this one! This is how it looks on Bandcamp. This is also where we have been encouraged to support TUDC. So be sure to buy your copy and download. The full album will be released this year as well.

There have been some great videos and interviews. Doug Petty’s interview on The Keyboard Chronicles is out now – it’s episode 117.

The Korgis and Graduate star, John Baker, was interviewed by Dave Mason on Radio Bath and it was incredible! There was so much information packed into that afternoon. Be sure to listen in while it’s still available. Remember to join us on Fridays between 10am and 12pm ET/NYC time for the Radio Bath listening hour. We spend time online (Twitter/X) listening to the incredible Dave Mason and all his incredible guests plus shoutouts and frequent Tears for Fears tracks. It’s a fun time online and a great way to start the weekend!

Big shoutout to Dion Smith who is co-owner of a pretty sweet studio in Brasil. Keep us posted Dion! Can’t wait to see what’s up next. Congrats to all the musicians in fan land who are doing big things! We’ll chat at length in August for the quarterly update. Now let’s get back to the party! Coffee Crunch Cake and Skittles for everyone!

Cheers,
