Rock Royalty Playing the Palaces & Canterbury

*Dedicated to Gwen, Darren, Wendy, Tamara, Bobo and the amazing fans who did everything they could to be present at each UK show! Also a big shoutout to those who joined in online to celebrate Curt’s birthday!

Carris Birthday Card
Thanks Carri for creating the 2019 card.

The past 6 days have been filled with celebration as Tears for Fears’ fans in the UK and those who flew in from the Americas came together to enjoy shows at pristine, immaculate venues. People who’d never met before shared accommodations and cars to make sure they arrived present and accounted for visible to the band. Tamara even got a shout out from Good Man Curt after flying in from Minnesota. Poor baby, despite losing her dog to illness, she’s been literally flying around the world supporting them. She finds the shows very healing and comforting to say the least. This was her 5th or sixth show this year in 3 different countries. Gwen and Wendy are breaking records as well by going to 16 shows and Darren got the guys together for group hugs and hanging out. Members of the band joined in as you can see in the photo. Big thanks to Reverend Charlton Pettus, Ms. Carina Round and Drummer Genius Jamie Wollam for taking a moment out of your packed schedules for some fan hellos and handshakes. We live for this!

*It should be noted that Curt Smith came down with a TERRIBLE cold that he referred to as just a flesh wound. He sacrificed his health so he could perform for everyone. We owe him! He enjoyed a lovely birthday with his family on the 24th and we were happy to celebrate it virtually as a group.

For several fans this set of shows meant the world. Another hug fest broke out and people were loving on each other, their eyes filled with tears of joy – the band does that to people you know. They evoke emotions that are so strong and powerful, it’s difficult to write these synopsis and keep a dry eye. Tamara sums it up well.

Words from Tamara:
It’s been a short, eventful, educational, entertaining, emotional, healing and unforgettable experience! I am forever grateful and thankful to have had this opportunity to come over on such short notice. It was a pleasure to meet so many of you I see online often and put a face with a name. Also so wonderful to spend the past few days with two fabulous fans who take this stuff seriously! I have no idea how I am going to function on the little sleep with all the traveling and running around from city to city, standing in lines for hours and doing it all over again. I managed for 3 shows in a row. My travel mates are going to 16 of these and have already been to 13 so far. Wow! That’s dedication! We shared a lot of laughs and other shenanigans. Those I probably best not mention 😂 I will never forget the kindness by so many like I’ve known you forever. Many of us already share one commonality with our love and appreciation of Tears For Fears music, but I find with every person I meet and talk to, I have a deeper connection with them on some other level which just validates another sign that I was meant to come here. There were many signs on this trip for me. Some of you may or may not believe in that sort of thing. I was moved to the words of Woman in Chains as I expected I would be. This trip was booked only a week before I had to make the decision about my BoBo. So again thank you Gwen, Wendy, Curt, Roland, Jamie, Charlton, Doug, Carina, Bill, Gooch, Andy and crew and Andye. Also my work for giving me the time off short notice and my husband for understanding why I needed to go. And so nice to meet all of you at the shows and I’m sorry if I leave anyone out as I’m a bit teary eyed being Ms Sensitive Pants that I am 😳Darren, Paula, Dion, Paula’s mom, Liz from New Zealand, Martin, Martin’s lady friend and all of the others. Someday I hope to come back to visit again. Until next time…#bunnylousadventures #tearsforfearssummertour2019 #tearsforfears #tffff@bunnylous_adventures @tfftravelfans

Having A Blast with Tears for Fears at Hampton Court Palace

**Dedicated to Tamara, Gwen, Wendy, The Coopers and Shaun Smith.

The first two shows of the Tears for Fears Rule the World tour part II – sizzling summer edition left fans quite satisfied, to say the least. More like…THRILLED TO BITS! Roland brought back the Flying Wombat and family members in the UK, like Curt’s brother Shaun, were also in the audience. The venue is quite fitting for our Rock Royalty. It was an impeccable two days. Big thanks to Gwen, Wendy, Darren, Simon and many others who shared their entire experience from start to finish.

One of the highlights of the fan experience were fans, Gwen and Wendy’s, cool AirBNB that was right next to the venue. They were able to hear soundcheck loud and clear. Little Lulu was dancing along and is carrying the torch for Toddlers for Tears for Fears – and there are many. For the Millennials of the group (Gen Y) do you remember when that was us?!!

Little Lulu – Toddlers for TFF team lead

Roland’s jokes were fantastic and funny! It was great to see him in such great form. Curt was kind to pause for some pictures with fans and kept us on his own stroll as he arrived with daughter, Lady Diva last week. Enjoy all the highlights and moments from this magical show. Connect with fellow fans and be good to each other. This is a fan family motto! We’re soldiers of sound, loving Tears for Fears as we sally forth through this life.

TFF – Absolutely Awesome in the O2

“I have had the unbelievable opportunity to play some amazing shows and places in my career, but tonight definitely is one of the highlights of my journey…. O2 Arena, London, England.” – Jamie Wollam (aka Drummer Genius)

Tweet of the day was this beauty from ‘All on the Board’

from all on the board

This was a really big deal. The O2 sold out! Capacity is close to 20,000. There was literally no extra space in this entire venue – every seat was purchased and or occupied. Tonight solidified the fact that Tears for Fears are indeed one of the top bands of all times. Their work and ability is timeless. Their message eternal!

Lady Alison Moyet was crystal clear and amazing as always! Check out this video from Cheryl Cision!

One of our favourite moments during any show is the proximity of Curt and Roland. Don’t ask us why. It’s something about these two angelic beings getting close together that excites us on a whole other level! Big thanks to Mr. Ibarra for this share!

Curt got a cool salute from fans. Check out this quick sing-a-long and hello to his family from his ‘fan family.’

Roland first began handing the microphone down into the audience in 2011 at the Wiltern. He’s continued the tradition quite kindly. Here he is in action!

A Fan Moment with Tasha LaRae

I truly believe in the law of attraction after the encounters I’ve had with Tears for Fears and Arrested Development. I was about 10 or 11 years old when I first heard AD’s Mr. Wendal. I was actually living in Tennessee at the time in an international community. I carried my Tears For Fears music with me everywhere. I was also on the student news team at my school and I remember we used both bands as our opening show music. We used every single track from their discographies for an entire year.

When I started my slow move into network television at the young age of 13 by visiting CNN in Atlanta and meeting the staff, I actually heard Tears For Fears EWTRTW as we rode down Marietta Street in front of the building. That same song came on my first day on the job less than 10 years later on 26 August. I requested TFF’s booking for an interview on CNNfn (this video appears to be reposted from KMK’s page to YT by a fan in Brasil). Then the band returned to Atlanta on my 8th work anniversary and I nearly fainted. Guess who opened for them?! You guessed it! Arrested Development! It was a musical marriage made in heaven.

AD the Band1

Arrested Development
Arrested Development members actually live in Atlanta. I don’t get to attend their worldwide shows but I do keep in touch and got a chance to chat with them just after one of their interviews at CNN in 2010. I truly respect their work and have a fan attachment to Ms. Tasha LaRae.

Recently she offered voice lessons and out of pure fandom (and to be ready for those fan singalongs during TFF concerts) I LEPT at this opportunity. This was done via FB video messenger for a mere $25 but was worth  $75 at least. Ms. LaRae went over breathing techniques and how to hold notes. With her guidance I could easily be ready to rock it out with Roland on ‘Ready to Start,’ in our front row fan participation. I admit I took the lessons first and foremost because I just wanted some time with her. She could have said, “Who wants to watch me put my shoes on?!” and I would have signed up because I am “that fan.”

I walked away with some truly amazing tips and better knowledge of how much work goes into perfecting a performance. It’s not just about going out on stage and natural talent takes over. It’s clear that it helps but performance requires so much practice. I would have to make time for it and  find a spot or place where I won’t disturb my neighbours.

Tasha LaRae helped me understand the art of singing. She provided a deep glimpse, at a steal mind you, into the world of performance. Part of me wants to go all in and work hard to get picked up by a band and really play a huge role as a backup singer 👨‍🎤. Alas, I’m a writer, a show producer…and a fan. I plan to continue to take lessons because I feel deep down that it’s super important to know the craft beyond buying a ticket.

Gargantuan thanks to Tasha LaRae and Arrested Development for being super outstanding and inspiring beyond music. They live their message and stand by it. Followers of Tasha LaRae will always find her to be a ray of light and incredibly positive. She even has a clothing line and independent music of which you’ve got to check out! Tears For Fears love them and you will too!! Cheers to them from all of us who’ve been fans since the 90s!

May they always be blessed!

Tears for Fears in Tucson #TFF2017

This show didn’t go as planned for a few fans. Lael will have the full report. There were rumours of people sneaking in and seat hopping in the VIP section. Somehow one fan lost her seat. Not sure how that happened and we’re awaiting the details. But the biggest culprit was the rain…monsoon rain, their words, not ours. Really sad to hear that some fans decided to leave due to the poor weather conditions. It was one of those kind of nights…BUT THE SHOW WAS GOOD!

Kudos to Lael and any others that worked really hard to get tickets for as many as possible for this show. There were lots of tickets still available a week before the concert so hopefully all who wanted to be there did get tickets despite the reported half-hour delay due to the lightning and terrible weather.

For those that had to leave early and miss Tears entirely…let’s have that conversation and work on getting you a better deal in the future and perhaps at a different venue. Outdoor shows in the summer are just scary and unpredictable (and part of the reason MANY on our team sat this one out – we knew it was too risky).
But the band marched on! The reports coming in say the band did great and trudged through, Roland joked about Wellingtons and they did that show with no complaints. Here’s a bit of video and some photos.

Gorgeous, Vivian!

Good Times in Glendale, Arizona! TFF 2017

Tears For Fears Travel Fan Blog Write – Up: Glendale (Phoenix) – Gila River Arena by Lael, TFF Travel Fan Team

Kenya and I arrived just on time, as the gridlock in Phoenix rush hour traffic was much worse than I thought it would be, especially considering we had use of the carpool lane. Opening act Allen Stone started earlier than 7:00 pm, and Tears For Fears took the stage at 7:15 pm. We made it to our seats on the floor just as TFF were taking the stage!! They sounded wonderful, and kept the volume at a nice level, considering the size of this arena.

Jamie Wollam was hitting on all cylinders, and his style of drumming just seems to suit larger venues. Actually, I feel that arenas bring out the optimum performance in TFF as well, due to the sing – along anthem style of their biggest hits. Other hits like “ELAHE” also shimmered in this setting.

I ended up dancing and singing, and remained standing during all of TFF’s set, even though in parts it felt kind of strange, almost a little inappropriate, as most of the audience was sitting down in the middle of their set. I loved the lighting effects that TFF had in place for “Change”, as these effects brought the song’s clean sound and pointed message to life.

The highlight of their concert was Kenya receiving a shout – out from Curt Smith, on the intro to “Shout”. I will never forget the look on Kenya’s face when she realized he had said her name! It took both of us a couple moments to realize it, as Curt Smith said her name in his adorable British accent, and she just did not believe it at first. I then turned to her, “Yeah, he said your name…”

Here are some of the amazing songs featured in Phoenix show, posted by fellow fans that were present. Be sure to like their YT channels and connect!

Tears for Fears Touching the Hearts of Tel Aviv 2017

The phone rang, people emailed, the media reached out… “Are you going to Tel Aviv? Can we speak with you?” Everyone was excited about this show! It was one of the first to be officially announced this year on the grapevine so to speak.

Here’s some footage from that show. Please be sure to reach out, follow and befriend all who are sharing! It’s awesome to build your circle with fellow Tears for Fears fans! Congratulations to Carina Round as she is expecting a child soon. We wish her well.

This post is dedicated to Liran Dan who was so excited about the show and reached out to pour his heart and soul into the greetings for the band. G-d bless you!
