Ode to Valerie, notre amie superbe! This is dedicated to our dearest Valerie, a VERY LOYAL Tears for Fears fan who has been in this circle of love for over 15 years. We first met her online nearly 2 decades ago when we were just glowing up the travel life and meeting up together to go to shows prior to Facebook days! She’s amazing! Her fan experience is incredible. We created a short montage of the photos and she provided the incredible full show! This is all from Valerie! Merci mille fois, chere amie!!
Valerie is representin’ in her skull shirt. Very nice!!
The two reviews by the local papers were also very kind and loving… please enjoy! Share with your friends. Let us know if you need a translation or summary.

Wow, what a sweet and subdued group (and not subdued in a bad way)! TFF Netherland’s energy was suave. You could hear a pin drop when Roland was talking. Now that’s a whole other kind of extreme respect. There was that one guy of whom you could tell by the energy in his voice was about to burst out of his merch and storm the stage for a hug and a brotherly smooch but other than that they were really calm and attentive. There was no talking between songs, no one fainted or fell out. They were just so calm and collected. Goals!
If only some of us could keep our wits about us (moderator included). We literally leap up and down when they come to town like children hearing the ice cream truck…it’s just bananas! LOL! Enjoy this synopsis of the show. We don’t have a lot of video and pictures. Just some shares from fellow fans.
He likes it! He likes it! 🙂
(and there were brownies? Mmmm! Must try! #teehee )
This guy needs a ticket to another show. This just ain’t right…Yikes!
Love the Merch arrangement!
Hope you enjoyed those shares and made some new friends with the people who shared them! This is the last week of the rescheduled sessions. It’s been years since any of us saw TFF during the colder months. We’re so glad it didn’t snow. The elements were clearly attending as well. We all saw the rain clouds make their way to a few venues as well as the wind. Ever notice the weather during the tour? Sometimes you get all four seasons into one…it’s like “the atmosphere knows they’re near.” The whole regional climate rejoices when the band comes to town. More shares to come! Cheers all!

Let’s get straight to the point…they played Suffer the Children. Now, a few nights ago we posted a video from the In My Minds Eye treasure box. That video is a full show of The Hurting plus two songs from SFTBC. And no one in YEARS has heard that song live…until today. The internet lit up!
And MVP Darren H got an audio recording of it. He wanted badly to make sure he didn’t break the rules so he didn’t hold his phone up. Mad respect for this!
Gwen got a copy as well. Tilt your head so you can see it…
This post is dedicated to Andrew W. He has been loyal and he shows up! Here he is with Drummer Genius Jamie Wollam 🙂

And wow, thanks Mr. Reardon!
Big thanks to all the Tears for Fears Travel Fans who are modestly travelling alongside the band, zipping in and out of shows. Some are working and still finding a way to make it to shows. You are troopers! Much love to you from your fellow fans! Reach out if you need anything! We’re on standby.

This post is dedicated to Tamara who flew all the way from Minnesota to Europe to follow the show. Tamara has been through a lot in her life. Like many, she has been able to find healing and energy in the music of Curt, Roland and team. Tamara you are appreciated and loved! Please remember that. What you did for fans, capturing the moments and experience then sharing it online was the real deal! You are awesome (and super pretty – look at that face)! We’re excited to have learned about Evan being in company as well.
From the eyes of our dear Gwen, she provided a lot of photos of the venue. Note how much larger this one is than the night before. It was soon just as packed.
Tamara got a view of the packed house.
Here’s their proximity to the stage.
Our dear lady Alison Moyet opened the show and we couldn’t be more pleased! We love her and wish she was a permanent member of the band. She will forever be a part of the Tears for Fears experience. Be sure to follow her on Twitter @alisonmoyet
How about this treasure from the Stone Forums. They claim they will be recording the entire show, every show until the tour ends! What a gift! You can barely hear Curt on EWTRTW because the crowd is singing so strongly it’s almost overpowering. Enjoy while it lasts because we don’t know if they’ll get flagged for posting this or not. *For the record, that’s not Andye singing Falling Down. She’s learned to pipe down at the concerts with all the singing. We don’t know this rogue singer but it was super cool to hear someone else enjoy it as much as we do!
Bill gave Gwen Doug’s set list. One of the many Roland Orzabal fan pages on Instagram reposted it.
It’s hard to discuss these shows right now because they are so fresh and the excitement is intense. A few of us are simply speechless and trying come down from cloud 9. It takes a while. Returning to earth after a Tears for Fears show is like…well, imagine being somewhere between heaven space and heaven. It’s mindblowing! An Irish Times writer seems to have gotten her bearings and quickly published this piece about the show. It is one of our favourites thus far.

“Pure perfection tonight. So happy they included ‘Falling Down’ and ‘Woman in chains’ tonight. Ro’s voice sounds incredible, as good as ever & you could tell he was enjoying himself again tonight, pulling faces and huge smiles for everyone. 2 down, 10 to go…” – Gwen, TFF Travel Fan about the Dublin show
If you are a die-hard soldier of sound you know we had some scares at the start of the year. Like a hot cup of coffee filled to the brim, we’ve been walking slowly and carefully hoping the cup didn’t run over and burn us all in some form or fashion. We were really scared out of our wits with so much legalese and uncertainty with the show reschedule and journalists on the outside picking up bits and pieces of our online conversations and then writing about what they “think” is going on with the band and fans. We’re so glad to have moved on from that to be present in the presence of Tears for Fears – their concerts wash away all pains, all negative emotion. It’s like being lifted to a whole other realm and completely healed. May the Universe bless the band and all of us on the road and in the air this year!

I came home and found Exit Strategy on my door step. So I dived into it immediately after tearing out of my work clothes – a black polka dot dress with a poofy petticoat and into my Tears for Fears pajamas. I had planned to read it using the Kindle app if the book didn’t arrive in time to start today’s awaited first chapter read. But I’m sitting here like my former grade school librarian eating this book for dinner.
One of the first things that caught my eye is the use of angel numbers in the “before.” I’ve been bombarded with 444, 1117 and the scariest of all 11:11 for a few years now. Reverend Pettus has begun with 12:34. That’s the number for step by step, pacing and so much more.
After staying in Boston with Deb in Jamaica Plains this past year post-tour for the TFF 2017 Wrap Up as we call it, I squealed as mental images surfaced by street name. I also finished a series of novels by a wild author and there is the mention of car speeds that end a few chapters. Those were my idea to that author. Kind of exciting to see them here too.
Why does this matter? Perhaps I’m hyper vigilant but I find it odd that anything to do with Tears for Fears, be it remotely and removed to a degree (e.g. Roland and now, the Reverend’s publications), coincidentally have very strong connections to our waking and real lives. It’s beyond coincidence at this point. While I’ll sit back and read this without vigilance, I’m pretty sure enough of will leave me with my hair standing on top of my head and chilly with goosebumps.
Looking forward to listening and reading the reactions, thoughts and deep moments with fellow fans.

…and blew them away with their legendary awesomeness! We’re thrilled with this turn out of superfans including Duranies/Duran Duran fans from our sister travel fan team of that band. Big thanks to Ingrid and her friends for live streaming the show! Awesome! This was reportedly a SOLD OUT SHOW!
This entry is dedicated to Ingrid – superfan of Duran Duran and dear fan sister to us all! She and her friend are awesome for what they captured last night and provided on their FB wall. Much love! Many others shared some amazing clips. Enjoy the below and make sure you connect with them and become fellow fan friends!

This looks like the photo in the music education book where some of us first learned about the band from a student perspective in music class.
Very surreal… full circle moment… SHOUT
Look at the crowd!
Thanks again to all who shared and posted! Next show is like momentarily practically…
Stand up and represent!

We had our wonderful core travel fan team on the ground for this show, first one on the 2017 tour. You can hear several of the group screaming with delight in one of the videos and it’s soooo nice. Again, this was the first show on this 29+ city visit and it was awesome! It’s so hard to write these recaps of shows as each year passes because the excitement grows beyond anything one can ever imagine. We are appreciative of the time and energy put into every concert by the band and the fans who travel alongside in support! Many thanks to Silver Kitty for snapping photos and providing visuals of the experience! Huge thanks to Bobby for driving! Carolyn and Becky Boom Boom for logistics and rentals! It’s all team work!!
Huge thanks to all of our fellow travellers who fly great distances to scream and shout their admiration throughout nearly every performance. We did a calculation and believe it or not, if you’re going to each show, paid the VIP ticket price, add airfare plus hotel fees …then you’re spending $20,000+ USD. That’s a lot of love to say the least! There are many that are doing 2-4 shows and THAT TOO is a A LOT! You are loved and deserve a fan conference!
Be sure to make friends, subscribe to each other’s YouTube channels and follow on Instagram. The more friends you make, the bigger the shows will be and remain until the guys call it a day! Keep it going! 🙂

There are very few videos of this show because security was insane and wouldn’t let fans do much more than stand there and listen…
Please continue to follow along via @papasfans for recaps of our fan experiences!
Plenty of shows left to go… We’ve got footage and shares from a ton and will post as we go along. So much to upload!
