*This post is dedicated to Gwen who has just gone above and beyond for SO MANY fans this tour. We envision a future fun photo with she and Mr. Orzabal. Picture them in a big laugh together post-show. We can see it! Thank you, Gwen!! You’re forever a hero!
Cutie Pies in the Crowd!
The reception for Alison Moyet throughout the tour has been terrific as expected! She’s our queen and we love her! She owns that stage! We’re going to miss her when this tour ends…and several of us are just hoping this is not the end of the Moyet x TFF connection. WE WANT MORE!! Big thanks to Gwen for supplying all the photos and contributions!
And she’s so frikkin nice!! Don’t take our word for it…look at this!
Always a fabulous time seeing @AlisonMoyet live, but what has really made my night, is that she has liked every single one of my tweets and replies about tonightβs show. Every. Single. One. 1/2
The Footy?! We’re going to be asking about this a lot… #Tease
“I donβt know how itβs possible but you all get better with each show! That was #6 of this tour for me tonight, just incredible. Thank you for not laughing βtooβ hard at us singing and dancing along ππ»@tearsforfears @charltonpettus @jameswollam See you at the next one!” – Superfan Gwen C.
This is one for the books! We will not ever forget this tour! We have certainly LIVED!! Totally steeped in gratitude right now for this amazing music and wonderful experience for so many in the UK! – TFF Travel Fan Team #Tour2019
Tonight’s bonus is this review: Good, bad? Thoughts? We are known to let a writer have it every now and again if they dare focus on superficial things… tell us your thoughts on this review:
Soooo much love in that venue tonight! Ohhhmigaah! Enjoy highlights from the show in Glasgow!
I will never tire of playing Glasgow. @TheSSEHydro was my delight tonight. Thank you for the fantastic reception. Thanking too my band @TweedySean@pjondrums and my crew that gift me such pride. Iβm a fortunate indeed and in fine company @tearsforfears@curtsmith killing it!
And loyal fan and continued supporter, Stuart P, confirms that Lady Moyet is going strong! The reviews and love for her continue to flow! And the venues continue to fill up. Here’s his photo pre-show.
Then there was Curt’s view… NICE!
Are we getting ready Glasgow? Not lacking in self confidence are you!! β€οΈπ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώβ€οΈ pic.twitter.com/TlLreryew2
MVP Gwen, the Tears for Fears tour resident, took this incredible picture of Curt. Isn’t it fantastic?
For a few of us the tour is coming to a pause until May. Gwen is counting down her final shows for 2019. It is a very hard thing to deal with and often times we have to find time to regroup. The amount of euphoric fun isn’t something you can put into words. So stepping off that tour and getting back into the real world is like being dropped into the Twilight Zone. You wonder how on earth you ever dealt with your day to day prior to the majestic experience. You find yourself craving… “more tour!”
The only thing that kept me going through work today was the thought of seeing @curtsmith & #RolandOrzabal again at Bβham & Nottβm. What am I going to do after Wednesday? π’ Withdrawal setting in…I need my TFF fix! @PapaSFans#12TFFGigs π»πΆπΈ pic.twitter.com/oSi81BjTdq
This post is dedicated to Andy B – loyal fan who waited nearly 35 years to see the band and Shaun Smith, a great world traveller who also happens to be the Good Man’s brother! We’re so happy for their contributions tonight to the travel fan site, allowing us to share their experience with the world!
And we do mean the world! As of today, this site has seen almost 20,000 visits per year since 2014. We joined this labour of love in 2004 and started going live publically in 2011 with the travel portion on this platform. Big thanks to all who contribute and share. This is all about featuring the absolutely fantastic moments of fans on tour and the great moments with the band…and there are plenty. Let’s dive into tonight’s show.
@curtsmith, you tweeted me happy birthday on my 15th, now I’m 21 and FINALLY got to see you live tonight, thank you and @rolandtff for the tunes, see you at Blenheim Palace… Play The Working Hour and I might just die πββοΈ #TearsForFears @tearsforfears – Maggie

Good Man Mr. Smith always tweets out his thank you! We love this!
“Thank you Bournemouth you warm & wonderful people. Now I understand why Eddie Howe likes it here π” -Curt Smith
Our bonus tonight is from Cindy P. She shares the Liverpool review which is thankfully focused on their music! The previous writers who seemed to be aching for bromance with Curt and Roland as if the band’s show was a Tinder swipe are completely absent here! We rejoice! Read Here
We’ll add more videos as they are received! Thank you for reading, sharing and enjoying! See you at the show!

“I have had the unbelievable opportunity to play some amazing shows and places in my career, but tonight definitely is one of the highlights of my journey…. O2 Arena, London, England.” – Jamie Wollam (aka Drummer Genius)
Tweet of the day was this beauty from ‘All on the Board’
This was a really big deal. The O2 sold out! Capacity is close to 20,000. There was literally no extra space in this entire venue – every seat was purchased and or occupied. Tonight solidified the fact that Tears for Fears are indeed one of the top bands of all times. Their work and ability is timeless. Their message eternal!
Get a better scope of the space with Kadelbach’s video.
One of our favourite moments during any show is the proximity of Curt and Roland. Don’t ask us why. It’s something about these two angelic beings getting close together that excites us on a whole other level! Big thanks to Mr. Ibarra for this share!
If you can’t wait until you get to a show then consider buying early from the merch store online http://www.tearsforfears.com. Items are arriving pretty quick.
Roland first began handing the microphone down into the audience in 2011 at the Wiltern. He’s continued the tradition quite kindly. Here he is in action!
Β
Β We try to add in a bit of a bonus including reviews. Here’s one from ES Insider featuring Roland’s thoughts on touring.
Let’s get straight to the point…they played Suffer the Children. Now, a few nights ago we posted a video from the In My Minds Eye treasure box. That video is a full show of The Hurting plus two songs from SFTBC. And no one in YEARS has heard that song live…until today. The internet lit up!
And MVP Darren H got an audio recording of it. He wanted badly to make sure he didn’t break the rules so he didn’t hold his phone up. Mad respect for this!
Gwen got a copy as well. Tilt your head so you can see it…
This post is dedicated to Andrew W. He has been loyal and he shows up! Here he is with Drummer Genius Jamie Wollam π
Big thanks to all the Tears for Fears Travel Fans who are modestly travelling alongside the band, zipping in and out of shows. Some are working and still finding a way to make it to shows. You are troopers! Much love to you from your fellow fans! Reach out if you need anything! We’re on standby.
This post is dedicated to Tamara who flew all the way from Minnesota to Europe to follow the show. Tamara has been through a lot in her life. Like many, she has been able to find healing and energy in the music of Curt, Roland and team. Tamara you are appreciated and loved! Please remember that. What you did for fans, capturing the moments and experience then sharing it online was the real deal! You are awesome (and super pretty – look at that face)! We’re excited to have learned about Evan being in company as well.
From the eyes of our dear Gwen, she provided a lot of photos of the venue. Note how much larger this one is than the night before. It was soon just as packed.
Our dear lady Alison Moyet opened the show and we couldn’t be more pleased! We love her and wish she was a permanent member of the band. She will forever be a part of the Tears for Fears experience. Be sure to follow her on Twitter @alisonmoyet
How about this treasure from the Stone Forums. They claim they will be recording the entire show, every show until the tour ends! What a gift! You can barely hear Curt on EWTRTW because the crowd is singing so strongly it’s almost overpowering. Enjoy while it lasts because we don’t know if they’ll get flagged for posting this or not. *For the record, that’s not Andye singing Falling Down. She’s learned to pipe down at the concerts with all the singing. We don’t know this rogue singer but it was super cool to hear someone else enjoy it as much as we do!
It’s hard to discuss these shows right now because they are so fresh and the excitement is intense. A few of us are simply speechless and trying come down from cloud 9. It takes a while. Returning to earth after a Tears for Fears show is like…well, imagine being somewhere between heaven space and heaven. It’s mindblowing! An Irish Times writer seems to have gotten her bearings and quickly published this piece about the show. It is one of our favourites thus far.
“Pure perfection tonight. So happy they included βFalling Downβ and βWoman in chainsβ tonight. Roβs voice sounds incredible, as good as ever & you could tell he was enjoying himself again tonight, pulling faces and huge smiles for everyone. 2 down, 10 to go…” – Gwen, TFF Travel Fan about the Dublin show
If you are a die-hard soldier of sound you know we had some scares at the start of the year. Like a hot cup of coffee filled to the brim, we’ve been walking slowly and carefully hoping the cup didn’t run over and burn us all in some form or fashion. We were really scared out of our wits with so much legalese and uncertainty with the show reschedule and journalists on the outside picking up bits and pieces of our online conversations and then writing about what they “think” is going on with the band and fans. We’re so glad to have moved on from that to be present in the presence of Tears for Fears – their concerts wash away all pains, all negative emotion. It’s like being lifted to a whole other realm and completely healed. May the Universe bless the band and all of us on the road and in the air this year!
We didn’t see this show coming…it was a huge and welcomed surprise! Many thanks to Marcio Campos who got all the footage for us as he always does. We appreciate his leadership and kindness to all fans from North America, South America and beyond. Marcio, you are one of a kind! We love you and appreciate you!
The file has been shared hundreds of times from the event and you can also watch it on YouTube. We have it archived in our video files of which are available to all travel fans and friends!
The phone rang, people emailed, the media reached out… “Are you going to Tel Aviv? Can we speak with you?” Everyone was excited about this show! It was one of the first to be officially announced this year on the grapevine so to speak.
Here’s some footage from that show. Please be sure to reach out, follow and befriend all who are sharing! It’s awesome to build your circle with fellow Tears for Fears fans! Congratulations to Carina Round as she is expecting a child soon. We wish her well.
This post is dedicated to Liran Dan who was so excited about the show and reached out to pour his heart and soul into the greetings for the band. G-d bless you!
This is dedicated to our #TravelFan team member Cindy who for years has followed a number of bands capturing the amazing shows and archiving them with attention and care. You can always count on Cindy aka ConcertChick. She is easy to spot with her gorgeous golden curls and perfect make-up down to the shoes honey! The nail polish and the glam go hand in hand as she represents the superfans of her favourite bands, Tears for Fears being on her list. For the record, she also does a darn good job looking after Duran Duran concerts, who, as we all remember, are good friends of TFF.
We also want to say a big thank you to @80smusiclovr for her follows and reports back on the good, the bad and the tough life of a fan following a band. There are few things easy about this. Also, much love to the fans that had to stand in line for a long time as they entered? Was reading concert notes and understanding the fan experience. Heaven bless everyone who was patient as they made it inside. Venue was massive, eh? π It looked full of fans and concert goers! Great!!
It looks like hopping a plane and just showing up but those of you who know the drill understand that just like the band, we too are haulinβ it across country to be present. Some travel alone, some follow as a flockβ¦either way, thereβs an unspeakable amount of work involved including taking time away from jobs, family and making a living for ourselves as musicians, writers and industry contributors. We appreciate what TFF does to get to each city because weβre experiencing it as well. Shoutout to the awesome flight attendants who help musicians and fans get from point A to point B with ease! Enjoy this collection of concert clips and relive the amazing memories and magic the band bestows upon us!

Sadly we donβt always have a smooth sailing as we jump aboard the SS DelaQ to go to the shows. This is a double ticket with a total of 3 sets of musiciansβ¦ Allen Stone, TFF and Hall & Oates. While our primary focus is Tears for Fears, we understand and respect that there are H&O fans in the audience. We as TFFβs crew tend to stand and dance the ENTIRE time. Given that we are usually in the VIP section that means we are up front in the first 10-15 rows doing our routine like clockwork. With respect to the Deadheads who followed faithfully alongside GD, we, too, have solid routine of movements and swoon the whole show. So, those who may be looking to take a load off and have a seat and a drink are probably annoyed by our enthusiasm. Too bad!
We spend on average $5000 each to travel to handful of shows on these tours. We do not come to sit and have a silent night while the band of our dreams is giving us 110% on stage. No apologies here! Get up and join us or deal with us wiggling around. We paid as well. We also do not believe any venue should follow suit and expect people to stay seated during a CONCERT!! Itβs a CONCERT! This is not the OPERA or the symphony where staying seated is expected and respectable. This is a rock concert at the end of the day and we as fans are going to respect the band by standing up and singing along. Thatβs how we show our love and dedication and we hope others understand that. We do not have a reputation of getting drunk and being insaneβ¦we simply stand up and show respect. Please respect us in return.
Kudos to all who stood their ground and sangβ¦especially to those who were not in VIP and got hurled insults because they came to represent. In future, contact us so we can get seats together. We donβt travel in numbers for no reasonβ¦itβs for safetyβs sake. Goal is to have a good time and build new fan family ties! Continue to enjoy!
We had our wonderful core travel fan team on the ground for this show, first one on the 2017 tour. You can hear several Β of the group screaming with delight in one of the videos and it’s soooo nice. Again, this was the first show on this 29+ city visit and it was awesome! It’s so hard to write these recaps of shows as each year passes because the excitement grows beyond anything one can ever imagine. We are appreciative of the time and energy put into every concert by the band and the fans who travel alongside in support! Many thanks to Silver Kitty for snapping photos and providing visuals of the experience! Huge thanks to Bobby for driving! Carolyn and Becky Boom Boom for logistics and rentals! It’s all team work!!
Huge thanks to all of our fellow travellers who fly great distances to scream and shout their admiration throughout nearly every performance. We did a calculation and believe it or not, if you’re going to each show, paid the VIP ticket price, add airfare plus hotel fees …then you’re spending $20,000+ USD. That’s a lot of love to say the least! There are many that are doing 2-4 shows and THAT TOO is a A LOT! You are loved and deserve a fan conference!
Be sure to make friends, subscribe to each other’s YouTube channels and follow on Instagram. The more friends you make, the bigger the shows will be and remain until the guys call it a day! Keep it going! π

There are very few videos of this show because security was insane and wouldn’t let fans do much more than stand there and listen…
Please continue to follow along via @papasfans for recaps of our fan experiences!
Plenty of shows left to go… We’ve got footage and shares from a ton and will post as we go along. So much to upload!
