We are grateful that Roland and Curt tour together bringing their phenomenal energy to fans around the world in many different countries. Here are some of the reviews and fan fun that took place before, during and after the show.
If you’re a regular to Tears for Fears shows, you know their intros are epic! From Shakespeare to Lorde … it’s always lovely. Check it out in Cleveland! Entire show was amazing and archived by great guys like Mr. Dominic and many others!
Louisville Kentucky… Fans said time and time again, they couldn’t BELIEVE that Tears for Fears were there. One guy mentioned that this was the last place he expected to see them …he just couldn’t believe they were there. Well, man, you got your wish! Glad you enjoyed it! Dedicated to Zanne…nice job! Thank you! Great show too, eh? So much extra fun and conversation! We love band convos!
We had our wonderful core travel fan team on the ground for this show, first one on the 2017 tour. You can hear several of the group screaming with delight in one of the videos and it’s soooo nice. Again, this was the first show on this 29+ city visit and it was awesome! It’s so hard to write these recaps of shows as each year passes because the excitement grows beyond anything one can ever imagine. We are appreciative of the time and energy put into every concert by the band and the fans who travel alongside in support! Many thanks to Silver Kitty for snapping photos and providing visuals of the experience! Huge thanks to Bobby for driving! Carolyn and Becky Boom Boom for logistics and rentals! It’s all team work!!
Huge thanks to all of our fellow travellers who fly great distances to scream and shout their admiration throughout nearly every performance. We did a calculation and believe it or not, if you’re going to each show, paid the VIP ticket price, add airfare plus hotel fees …then you’re spending $20,000+ USD. That’s a lot of love to say the least! There are many that are doing 2-4 shows and THAT TOO is a A LOT! You are loved and deserve a fan conference!
Be sure to make friends, subscribe to each other’s YouTube channels and follow on Instagram. The more friends you make, the bigger the shows will be and remain until the guys call it a day! Keep it going! 🙂

Billie Jean – MJ Tribute
There are very few videos of this show because security was insane and wouldn’t let fans do much more than stand there and listen…
Please continue to follow along via @papasfans for recaps of our fan experiences!
Plenty of shows left to go… We’ve got footage and shares from a ton and will post as we go along. So much to upload!
*Dedicated to Katie K!
There are times when only photos can capture the moment…words do nothing. This show was certainly one of those occasions. Many thanks to Katie K. for her amazing contribution. These are all her photos and should not be used without permission. Enjoy!
Update: Need tickets Los Angeles? We’ve got a set on the 12th row for the first show of the reschedule! Leave us a message on our Facebook page or Tweet us – both @papasfans (gmail or Twitter). As a team of dedicated fans who travel to follow the band, we’ve been gathering and celebrating Tears for Fears for over 2 decades. In the last 7 years (started archiving our travel in 2010), we’ve made a lot of efforts to be inclusive and keep our fellow fans in the know. Some of our fun includes where to meet up for photos, notifications on the band’s prompts to hang out and spend a few minutes with fellow fans and more. Many of us are back on the road again for #Tour2017. Below is an updated list of the full 2017 Tears for Fears concert schedule (global) and those who have checked-in to say where they’ll be during the tour. Cheers-cheers!
Dedicated to Valerie who will be in Arizona and to Katie who cashed out her 401K (not uncommon) to see the band this year. We wish everyone safe travels and a great time!
Air Travel: We suggest Delta or Southwest – please be sure to join their frequent flyer club programs. There is no extra charge and the perks are worth it. In 2014, we were able to use points each time we wanted to see the band. You can earn enough points for free tickets, free hotel stays and more.

DD Horns album release party will take place this weekend! This is the band of the awesome Mr. Moyer and we’re thrilled to support him and his work. One of our collaboration wishes is to have DD Horns open for Tears for Fears on a future tour. We’re just throwing that out into the Universe…that and Skittles showers…we are all about that life!
We’ve been talking about Mr. Moyer since his appearance with the band back in 2014 at the Wiltern as the saxophonist for The Working Hour. His contribution and time with the band that evening left a lasting impact and we’re stuck on him and his music. It’s awesome. If you’re Los Angeles this weekend, this is the place to be…with DD Horns! Check out the information and be sure to get there early!
Yes, we knew about two weeks or more ago, no we couldn’t say anything until the band tweeted it first. You know that’s the rule. But we’ve got your hotel and flight info for those who are looking to make the trip. This post is dedicated to Jonathan Livnat’s cousin who has been waiting to see the guys for a very long time. Wishing his cousin the best and hopefully a handshake and photo with the guys. Long time coming…
So, here’s the info. Tears for Fears will be in concert on the 5th of July in Tel Aviv, nation of Israel. There is a substantial VIP section for this show and it is worth it. Good seats are still available so do try to get one of these. Average price is good too. For approx 800 shekel ($225 USD) you can get 6th row Roland or Curt’s side.
Now, about Tel Aviv… we know musicians there, not everyday people. So this was a bit of a challenge for us because most of our friends who lived there now live here in the United States. We’re relying on them for tips to navigate the city.
That flight though… you might want to plan a whole holiday around this one because Delta is in the 1000s on a roundtrip. This is a holiday week in the United States and flights will not be cheap. You can see them on Delta.com and or check with your favourite carrier.
Hotels: Due to the flight price, we’re not going for anything too costly, please see the Yam Hotel in Tel Aviv. You’re looking at about $1,000 USD to be there for a week and we think it’s worth it. Let us know via FB email if this isn’t working for you. We have a few travel fans already in the area who may be able to assist with a better suggestion. Heck, knowing how we are, you may end up staying with one for the week. We’re all rather chummy like that.
Ground Transportation:Use Uber – no questions asked. This is going to be the more reliable option. If you want to book a driver for the week, we can discuss it via email.
Meet and Greets: We’ve heard absolutely nothing on this thus far. We’ll be sure to tweet via #RollCall if any opportunities arise. Our inbox and text messages prove that many there wish to shake the guys’ hands. Hope this helps! We’ll be in touch with more info as it comes in and is okay to share.
Yep! They sold out. We saw that coming. But, there’s always a miracle and a silver lining when it comes to anything related to Tears for Fears. The group Event Travel has a number of packages from which to pick that will help you achieve the experience for which you are looking.
We’re going to skip our normal list of accommodations and go strictly with theirs. Why? Because you’re gonna need it. When going abroad for concerts it’s best to find package holidays and deals so that you are not overspending and you get something that is all inclusive. If you seriously do not want to do these packages, contact @papasfans and we’ll email you personally with suggestions, ground transportation and other info in case you’ve already booked your ticket and don’t need any of the below.
HUGE THANKS to THE KILLERS’ media team for being so on top of everything and getting information out! Much appreciated!
*Update: hotel packages are sold out so if you need one we suggest these which are near the train and can get you to other places you need to go while you’re staying in the city…
The Cumberland/Hotel Cumberland: Great Cumberland Place, Westminster Borough, London, W1H 7DL, United Kingdom
Hotel Mercure: 8-14 Talbot Sq, Paddington, Westminster Borough, London, W2 1TS, United Kingdom
Hotel Grosvenor– this is sold out but check back with them periodically because it’s managed by a great team – 86 Park Lane, Westminster Borough, London, W1K 7TN, United Kingdom
We love to keep track of and follow musicians that work with Tears for Fears. We’re thrilled the band’s drummer, Jamie Wollam (The Drummer Genius – that’s what we call him as do others), has a new site. Now we can wallow all in Mr. Wollam’s world as we know it’ll be filled with updates and cool information. Thanks are in order here to Dion and Paula Smith who worked hard to make sure this actually happened.
Thank you Jamie for taking the time and welcome Lindsey R to the crew.
Be sure to visit: http://www.jamiewollam.com/ and follow along on all social platforms to see the latest cool news. Jamie is so much fun and one of the nicest people on the planet. Don’t take advantage of that by sending him a list of wishes but be sure to yell his name and say hey when you see him out on tour! 🙂
Thanks for reading!
