LYRICS – I LOVE YOU BUT I’M LOST

IMG_1898

As requested, here are the lyrics to Tears For Fears’ mind blowing new single that has fans up talking about it 24/7. You can thank Captain Julian Orzabal for these. He sent them to Andye, the blog and Travel Fan team moderator after a conversation of which we’ll discuss later. Below the lyrics is a link to the discussion taking place on the Tears For Fears & Kooks Travel Fan Team FB wall.

How do these lyrics relate to your life? Did they pierce your heart? How are you feeling after listening to ILYBIL?

Lyrics: I LOVE YOU BUT I’M LOST

LOST IN THE MAZE OF THE BACK STREETS I STRUGGLED
FIGHTING MY WAY THROUGH A WHOLE LOT OF TROUBLE
TOO MANY PEOPLE WERE TALKING WITHOUT MOVING THEIR MOUTHS

SO MANY DAYS SO MANY NIGHTS EVER WONDER
BY THE LIES THAT HAVE STOLEN MY THUNDER
IN THE HAZE OF MY MIND ALL THE WIRES WERE CROSSED

I LOVE YOU BUT I’M LOST

FROM A FLAME TO THE SPARK OF AN EMBER
TO A FIRE ON THE 5TH OF NOVEMBER
WE ESCAPED FROM THE LIGHT NOW WE COUNT THE COST

I LOVE YOU BUT I’M LOST
I LOVE YOU BUT I’M LOST

LOOK AT THE MARKS ON YOUR ARMS ALL THE COLOURS
HOW YOU LIKE TO MAKE THEM PAY
THESE ARE THE REASONS WHY YOUR LIFE IS NOT QUITE WHAT IT WAS

IN A DREAM AT THE EDGE OF A RIVER
WHERE WE SWAM WHERE I WATCHED YOU SHIVER
CAME TO LIFE IN MY ARMS AND THEN TURNED TO DUST

I LOVE YOU BUT I’M LOST

ALL WE NEEDED WAS SOME TIME x 4

I LOVE YOU BUT I’M LOST

Tour Wrap Up & London Teaser

Before we discuss next steps I think we just need to breathe. That was a long a$$ tour and wayyy too much fun, wow! For those that followed along every night and stayed the course virtually with the frequent plane hop to be there in person, high freakin’ five to you and the crew! Again, so many MVPs to name! The Rocsatears, Tears for Fears Travel Fans and so many more from all OVER the globe showed up and showed out for these concerts. Santa Barbara got a lot of the hardcore travel fans on video dancing song after song nonstop, singing along to every word and showing their maaaad dedication to this band! You are the winners and you are impressive!

Rocsateers1

This was also an emotionally charged tour for many of us on a personal level. For quite a few, you were running to this tour for healing. You were going through all kinds of stuff at home, in your work life and beyond. The spirit world was knocking at the door taking relatives and in some cases it simply warned you to slow down and change course. You survived again…alongside Tears for Fears. That’s what we do. This is our sanctuary. The band themselves will perhaps never know or even understand how much we rather rely on their music to get us through the day. When crazy happens…turn on Tears for Fears. When the world is falling down around you, grab your prayer book and Tears for Fears – sometimes it’s hard to tell one from the other – both help more than words can say!

Logistically this was a difficult tour and rather expensive with the double artists tickets in the $300-$400 range not to mention airfare from city to city. At this point most of us like to attend a string of shows…like 5-6 at a time and that means taking off a week or two from our daily lives and responsibilities. Next year is looking highly likely to be a heavy travel year as well so let’s rest up and be prepared for it! Let’s hope the VIP option stays though – especially if it includes all TFF merch for 2018. It helped a lot! Send your thoughts on that…

There is so much more to be said but let’s focus on next year and be glad we got to be together again this year! If you have any questions, continue to send them in to our Facebook page, we’ll answer to the best of our ability or will reach out to the band (and in some cases) point you to management, etc.

The Pause… We’re not going to discuss it. They got through it and they will chat about it when they feel like it. And that is all!

Tune in Thursday 12 October at 7:30am GMT/UTC (Update – show aired within the 2a ET hour) BBCRadio2 for a track/single from the new album. To convert, login to TimeAndDate to check the time in your region.

What to expect? I Love You But I’m Lost (ILYBIL)

“There’s a song called “My Demons.” There’s a song called “I Love You but I’m Lost,” “End of Night.” These are all very strong singles. “Up Above the World” has just got a great, fantastic beat.” – Roland Orzabal during an interview with Chris Callaway

Cheers and thank you for hanging out with us before and after the shows in various cities. Let’s hope our Tears for Fears Fan Conference dreams (sent proposal *cough cough*) come to fruition in 2018 or shortly after…

Fans from around the world sporting their merch!

Big thanks to those who shared their videos. Here are some from the past two nights at the Staples Center. Many people literally changed their lives around to be present for this show. Huge thanks for going the extra mile under the circumstance. Some had to give up their tickets and others gave them to fellow fans.

We appreciate those that made those sacrifices as fellow fans. Few words can ever express the power of the fans and what they do to make things happen. What makes it even more special is that Mr. Moyer was there as well providing support on Working Hour! Hope it’s okay to mention this but he just got married to a beautiful lady named Andrea (not ours – but a different Andrea equally as awesome indeed! We’re so happy for him. Be sure to get the link to his band’s music at the bottom of this post. Now, enjoy Working Hour

ReBlog – Fans Talking About Coming Album That We’ve Known About Since 2012

I’m thrilled to learn that the forthcoming Tears for Fears album has a name: THE TIPPING POINT. At the moment, the title is a tentative one, more indicative of the band’s desires and aspirations than of any confirmed realizations. It’s been, amazingly enough, thirteen years since the band’s last studio album, EVERYBODY LOVES A HAPPY […]

We Always Love Las Vegas – TFF 2017

We have a lot of great memories of travelling to Las Vegas and hanging out for a few days while we await the band to land and give us one of their epic musical nights. Tears for Fears concerts in Vegas are just EPIC! This one was thankfully indoors unlike some in the past (remember 2012’s heat – even the band asked for one during cooler weather LOL!). Thankfully each time the band has brought amazing, cool energy that creates a breeze of beautiful memories that have stayed with us. This was another one of those outstanding shows that you just can’t forget. There are so many wonderful posts about TFF Vegas 2017! Enjoy these videos from those that shared!

Roland’s Interview With Eric Alper

EricAlper (2)

Something about Canada. All of my experiences with Canada have been surreal and incredible. The people are awesome and it’s just a fantastic place to visit, particularly Toronto. It’s no surprise that this very warm, somewhat candid, authentic interview featuring Roland happened to be conducted by Eric Alper of the Eric Alper show…a Toronto based broadcast. Loved every minute of it! I hope one day I can explain why this interview means so much to many of us at this very moment. There is a lot going on right now (life events) that pertain to this particular part of the world and it’s steeped in Tears for Fears goodness and angelic coincidences.

The interview is amazing because it’s just so raw and candid…and in some parts Mr. Alper asks Roland questions that a person like one of us might ask out of nervousness and just pure shock that he’s sitting in front of us. There are times when we just completely fan out and it’s so clear that Mr. Alper fanned out in some parts of this and admits that he had some second thoughts about a few of his questions…isn’t that us after every encounter with this man? We’re always like, “Omg, did that really happen? Wait, was my hair tidy?”

But THE BEST PART is his explanation regarding the tops to tails of the band’s history. He does not mention The Ducks, History of Headaches but he starts with Graduate and goes in respectful detail about the band’s rise…and gently addresses parts that are rather painful for some of us to revisit because we know too much due to some interviews that were published back in the 90s. Those interviews have since been removed and some of us, as ridiculous as it may be, have sworn with our lives that we are NOT EVER going to bring up those years when R&C were separated. This was bone crushing for us and though in hindsight we see the benefit of it, those were some emotionally heart wrenching years. Still some of the band’s greatest songs came out of it. Eric touches on all of this eloquently and with a style that NO OTHER interviewer or archivist has mastered.

Have a listen and savour it… some of us were up as early as 5am on a tour day listening to this and just crying. If you already appreciate Tears for Fears to the nth degree you are going to marry their music after listening to this… it’s unreal and so well-done. Again, no one else has explained the history of this band so well.
