Given that we did this trip last year, we advise fellow travel fans to perhaps use this blog post below as a guide. The date for this year’s show is 10 July. Tickets are on sale this Friday…alongside tickets for 5 other shows. Advice, aim for the venue tickets first and then reach out to third party ticket sellers. The venue will have them for market rate.
Tears For Fears are confirmed to perform at the Brady Theatre in Tulsa Oklahoma, Tuesday the 16th of June. Tickets for this show go on sale next Friday morning 27 March at 10am CST (Centeral Standard Time or 11am ET for East Coast, 8am for those flying in from Los Angeles). The Brady Theatre is quite historic, having opened at the beginning of the last century. A plethora of A-listers have performed here. This is not a general admission show, so no need to arrive at the crack of dawn and stand in line in the summer heat (thank you TFF booking). Doors open at 7pm and the show is start at 8pm. No word on who will open for the band or if anyone is opening at all. We also read that the seats are tiny. We don’t know what…
As mentioned previously on our Twitter account and the band’s, Tears for Fears will perform at Bunbury Festival this year. This takes place 3-5 June 2016, This festival is cashless. Your money is stored on a wallet wristband in order to enhance your concert experience. Pretty straight forward festival. The band will be in good company with a stellar lineup of modern musicians. They play on the Sunday the 5th of June according to the updated schedule.
Right now, single day tickets are not available. You have to buy the whole 3-day experience. VIP has not sold out. It’s $1200 and it’s worth it. Given the needs of travel fans who want to have an uber awesome time on tour this is the package you’ll want. It includes:
-Separate Entrance
-Best View of the Stage
-Private Bathrooms
-Parking for all 3 days of Festival
-Complimentary Drinks and Food (and much more)
*If you can spare it, get it.
Flight: Delta has great deals going to Ohio quite a bit. So register for their mileage program and you’ll receive weekly notices about flights. We are suggesting Delta because they are the one airline with which we’ve had the least amount of trouble. They can also help you the day of your flight via @deltaassist on Twitter. It’s a big help.
Accommodations:
They’ve got it all taken care of…from glamping to camping. Here’s the link.
Venue Address: 705 East Pete Rose Way, Cincinnati, OH 45202
Meet & Greets and MeetUps
Fans have hinted that they want to meetup and do some fun things, gather and see other bands while there. Other fans have mentioned the festival circuit is not their thing so we “travel fans” don’t have anything planned per se. Let us know if you want to get together and do something fun during the three days. Our activities are about you and maximizing your level of fun.
Remember that the band will be back in Ohio a month later at the PromoWest Festival.
So, this is unconfirmed… Tears for Fears are scheduled to play at Chateau Ste. Michelle this summer for the winery’s annual concert series. This news broke in the MorningStar this week and thankfully so. Big credit to Silver Kitty and fellow travel fans in Australia for keeping us updated on this one. We placed the article and ticket info on our FB and Twitter accounts about 30 minutes after the info was published. But the band, as of today, has not announced the concert officially. But we’re going to go ahead and list it here in the blog because tickets went on sale yesterday for those with the passcode. Regular tickets went on sale today. The best way to get them is through Ticketmaster. The venue has tickets but they also go through ticketmaster. There is not special set of tickets from the venue. We do not have any specials or roll call options for this show.
Concert Venue:
It’s onsite in the Amphitheatre. This is completely outdoors. There’s seats and there’s also lawn option. You’ll want to buy a reserved ticket if there are any left. Address:
14111 NE 145th Street
Woodinville, WA 98072
Airfare:
Southwest and Delta are your best bets here. Preferably Delta to avoid layovers and plane changes.
Accommodations:
We couldn’t really tell if the winery had onsite accommodations so we’re going to try something unorthodox and suggest Willows Lodge. This is also a place that serves wine. The link there in blue has packages that may be of interest to you. Prices range and swing broadly. Discount hotel sites list $230+ – We always suggest booking through the hotel itself simply to avoid any issues. Other options: Residence Inn and Country Inn and Suites are 5 miles from the winery.
Meetups: Everybody wants to go… So, chances are there will be a little shindig of sorts. More info on that as people commit.
Just wanted to make sure this info was out. We’ll update as time goes on.
Let this be inspiration for you…plan to have a slumber party. Jen and her friends did it right. Kept with tradition!
Tears for Fears are listed to play Promo West summer 2016. This concert takes place in Columbus Ohio. This is separate from the Bunbury festival to take place in June. Promo West is a new festival with scheduled show dates of 15 – 17 July. The festival promises to be a big deal as the CEO of the company has a lot of experience with live music venues. The venue can hold around 60K people.
It is not clear nor confirmed exactly what day that Tears for Fears will perform but the festival has listed them in the line up which includes some of the people that were on the line up for other festivals at which they have been featured (i.e. Modest Mouse). While we usually wait for the band to announce these things, we do not want fans to miss out on ticket sales. They are on sale right now ranging from $169.00 to $389.00. Click here to buy. Note that VIP is available.
Suggested Accommodations: A) The Westin Columbus – 310 S High St, Columbus, OH 43215 (rates start around $100 per night not including taxes, etc.)
B) Hyatt Regency 350 N High St, Columbus, OH 43215 (rates start around $109 and is our preferred hotel)
Flights:Delta has amazing deals to this area in their weekly note. Register with this airline to get the weekly deal notification. Consider flying Delta as they have plenty of seat options and have been relatively stress free minus a few gate changes and confusions that were cleared up pretty fast. Follow @DeltaAssist on Twitter and download the app for the best service. Can’t stress that enough…
No other info is available at this time (i.e. meet and greets, fan fun). Not even sure we should be releasing this unconfirmed info. The concert was announced in the early hours of the morning and relayed via travel fans in Australia. The band will confirm when they get good and ready to do so. Many thanks to C. Binyon for making sure all were aware of this update.

*pardon any typos and run-ons, we’re in a rush today…
**Bunbury Festival travel info coming up, we always attempt to put a plan together before posting (i.e. fan activities, fun stuff). Still awaiting info on who is going for sure.
Most of you who are going to this show have your tickets already. Several more have confirmed they are going as well. So here are some extra details/a follow up from an earlier tweet we made about this show. This concert is to take place just shy of the Camp Bestival concert. While CB will offer a festive fun family atmosphere where it’s okay to get a little dirty, Newmarket Racecourses’ event is bursting with elegance…dress code and all. There are a ton of show packages much like CB. They boast individual and multiple ticket offerings such as:
-The Boys Party Package: Admission, Tote Voucher, Food & Drink voucher and 1 racecard
-The Girls Party Package: This one includes a bottle of champagne
-Newmarket Dining Packages: Each includes very nice dining
-Earlybird style packages: Offers tote voucher and more *Keep in mind one of our dear fellow travel fans has a premium seat available that you can buy directly from her. She’s reliable and picky about her seats so this is a good deal. Let us know if you want it. We’ll get you in contact with her immediately.
Official Flyer for the Newmarket Nights featuring Tears for Fears
Dress Code:
Treat it like an upscale wedding. No tennis shoes, athletic team jerseys or skimpy stuff. Seriously, this is a formal event and should be respected as such. So, invest in a nice pair of shoes, a really great shirt and snazzy trousers. Those from the Loli/JFashion community going to the show, you need not worry at all. Just open your outstanding Victorian closet and style away. You’ll be the talk of the show. If you need more info on what is expected, just send us a note and we’ll send you pictures. This is an incredible opportunity to have a lot of fun with fashion. *Note that fancy dress is not allowed within the Premiere Enclosure. Call and ask about that… in fact, if you’re worried about your appearance as it relates to your seating dial 01638 675500 (option 4) to get the official coordinate/clothing rundown.
Logistics:
Again, we suggest British Airways as the preferred air carrier. Virgin Air is our second suggestion as well as Korean Air if you can get a flight from your area. No, it’s not the cheapest option from the states but this is a long flight so you might as well fly in style with comfortable amenities.
Ground Transportation: Get a taxi from the airport. Download the local apps (e.g. gett.com) and schedule it so you’re not hanging around trying to figure out what to do.
Hotels: Stay on site (unless the Orzabal Family is having a slumber party 🙂 #ThatllBeTheDay #AndIfYouBelieveThat)
-The Jockey Club Rooms: jockeyclubrooms.co.uk (call for pricing)
-Bedford Lodge Hotel: bedfordlodgehotelmobile.co.uk (mobile friendly link)
*prices for BLH range from $400 USD to $600 USD per night or so depending on the type of room you get. It’s worth it given the amenities and proximity to the venue. It’s like staying at an English resort. If you’re going to Camp Bestival, you might want to find a room partner to decrease the cost of the “Newmarket Show stay.” USD only goes so far in the UK and prices can escalate into the thousands pretty quick if you’re not sharing travel.
Seeing TFF Live is an Experience
Getting to the Venue:
You can pre-order your ground transportation package. Note that on the concert night a train will pick everyone up at 4:15pm local time and return you 30 mins after the concert ends. Now…before you consider that, think of what you plan to do before and after the show. A lot of times fans (and sometimes the band) end up seeing each other before the show. As we know from photos and personal experience, you never know what opportunities will come about. Even if nothing is scheduled you want to be “available” for surprises so we suggest you arrange a car service or taxi from the venue to and from your hotel. The meeting point for your taxi is just outside Premier Entrance 1 when they pick you up after the show. Order your taxi in advance. Here are a few suggestions:
Food: You will not starve. There’s plenty of food at the hotel plus tons at the venue. Remember the show packages through the venue will have lots of food options. Again, another awesome opportunity to have some really rich, flavourful fare. #EnglishFoodies
Love this silhouette… rock on Good Sir… heck yes! #RolandAndCurtForever #TearsForFearsForLife
ROCS at Capitol Theatre by Lax
Meetups and Meet & Greets: We’re still gathering info on who is going to be there. If we have enough people to do a nice group photo in cool race day hats then it shall be. *We WILL NOT ask Roland or Curt (or Jamie, Charlton and other band members and road crew) to let us hang out pre or post show. All band interactions remain at their discretion. Sorry. We know some of you are travelling a very long way and spent a ton of money to make this happen but we do not manage meetings without unprompted permission from the rock royals themselves.
If you have any questions we’re available around the clock. Find us on Twitter, Google+, Facebook or leave a message for us via the blog.

Annnd exhale… yesssss… Open your eyes…it wasn’t a dream. That show was THAT good…omigahd! It was so good it brought people to tears figuratively and literally! You know, you see these “80s” parties and the event titles sound so cliché and limiting given that most if not all these artists have new music and continue to tour. As outstanding as the 80s were for music (and boy do we realise it now more than ever) an 80s party can go one of two ways: really good or really tacky. This one, however, took 80s appreciation to a whole other level…it raised the bar! iHeart80s chose really strong artists that brought the house down, creating a LIVE and interactive online (streamed live) experience we can never forget. This show was PHENOMENAL and TEARS FOR FEARS were one of the strongest acts of the entire night!
iHeart80s knew exactly what they were doing. While some voiced that iHeart should have saved the best for last (Tears for Fears), they did the concert goers (virtual ones and those there on site) a big service having such an explosive start by our beloved Tears for Fears and a perfect ending by the darling Culture Club, Bowie tribute in tow.
*Celebrity Papz was there doing their thing. Check out footage you can buy and have licensed for your publication swag…see top rate Tears for Fears after hottie bad boy Billy Idol 😉
Travel Fans On the Ground
Big thanks to Silver Kitty (CD), birthday girl Kai and other travel fans that were on the ground having flown in from the east coast and all over. Even those that didn’t have tickets jumped in and found a way to get material uploaded. The online party was great and attended by our travel fan team leaders in The Philippines (maraming salamat Joyce and Jan). People kept the travel fan spirit going with slumber parties, created their own TFF swag plus shared video and photos throughout the night from their #iHeart80sParty experience.
swag, swag, swag-swag-swag, swag! #RFOHeckYeah!
The Show
The videos and audio clips can speak for themselves. Please enjoy.
Other great bands
Loverboy, Billy Idol, Rick Springfield, Missing Person’s and of course The Culture Club who did an amazing tribute to David Bowie with “Starman.” G-d bless his legacy and whatever realm our music teacher is in today. Mr. David Jones, we miss you terribly. #BowieLove
Upcoming Tears for Fears concert/show info is here on the blog. Please read the UK travel notes carefully so you have everything you need to get out and return safely…unless the Orzabal family adopts you and you can live with them happily ever after! #AndIfYouBelieveThat
Cheers! Thanks for reading!

This festival could not possibly make it any easier to understand how CB operates. They’ve pretty much done all the leg work for you. Camp Bestival looks and sounds as though it is a really well thought out venue with great facilities and a guaranteed amazing opportunity to see a number of great bands, notably TEARS FOR FEARS!!
IS IT WORTH IT?
YES! See for yourself and make an informed decision. Some of you have already decided that camping out and festivals are not for you. Many fellow travel fans totally understand. Some of us don’t do well outside in the elements no matter how modern the ammenities. “Curt and Roland have already seen me look my worst on FAR too many occasions. I’m reluctant to challenge that with a camping trip unless I ‘GLAMP’ really hard.”-AA Well, AA, you can glamp for 4 days with Camp Bestival!!!
But for those who aren’t challenged by camping or fear looking a little rugged in the first few rows this is the best thing several of us have ever seen for an outdoor show. Stateside festivals take note of CB’s amazing offerings. read below to look at these options!
-Camping opens on Thursday to allow you time to get settled
-Camping Plus allows for a premium camping experience
-Backstage VIP camping (just behind the MainStage)
-Boutique Campsite (Yurts!! Tipis!! Bell Hotel!! <– AA approves!)
*There are so many options!
Logistics:
Airfaire – Suggested air carrier is British Airways.
Money/Currency: Change your money from your current currency to Pound Sterling at a bank before hand to avoid paying crazy fees. Also do it before you leave.
Ground Transporation – Buses run to this area as do trains
From the airport you want to get a train on the Wareham or Wool Railway station. Call 0345 6000 650 to get exact info. Tell them you are going to Camp Bestival. The South West Trains Group discount is also available online (as per the Camp Bestival site info).
Hotels: As mentioned Camp Bestival has over 15 options including the Hotel Bell Tent. Do your best to avoid staying off site and driving in to the location. We’re not even going to list anything else but Camp Bestival’s suggestions noted above so you won’t feel determined to stay off site. Unless Roland doesn’t mind you riding in with him. Now that’s a perfectly good excuse to stay off site. #SlumberPartyAtTheOrzabalAbode
Traveller’s Insurance: Contact your current car insurance provider and or Health Insurance to take advantage of bundle rates on health insurance. If you have an AAA membership, this is the time to use it to get Travel Insurance referrals. Do not travel without it.
Passport Info: Those travelling from outside the UK will need it.
If you’re coming from the states: Go to your local post office and get an application or do it online. Walgreens and other photo service providers will arrange your passport photos for you. You can do the rest online or at the Post Office. Call in advance for best times to take care of that.
Those travelling from everywere else can get entry and exit requirements from your nearest British Consulate.
*If you are a foreign national residing in another country other than the one you were born in and want to go to the show, you need to call the consulate and travel agencies to make sure you have all the correct documents to enter to the UK and re-enter the country from which you left.
Paying For This/Money Tricks/Pricing:
Because we’re working with Pound Sterling in the UK, it’s best that those coming from the states round up x2. If the price is £1,520 round up to $3,000. You will not owe that much but rates fluctuate so it’s best to be overprepared.
Prepay as much as you can and bring receipts with you as well as storing them on your phone so that you have quick proof in case anything goes missing in the system. Technology can be a b*tch at times. Also remember to buy a universal charger for phones, hair dryer and computers if yours doesn’t have one. Otherwise…ummm yeah. Not cool.
Other notables:
-Kids under 18 need to be accompanied by parents
-NO PETS! Only registered guide companions e.g. guide dogs
-Payment plans are available for ticket purchases
-Please read the site carefully. Take some time out of your day to read the CB site more than once. It’s actually very entertaining and will make this experience so much better for you. They truly offer A LOT!
-If you haven’t received your Camp Bestival wristband by the 16th of July give them all call: 0844 888 4420
-Again!!! Look at the prices and note that it is in pound sterling. If you are stateside, double the amount just to be on the safeside. Better to expect to pay more than to pay less. Rates fluctuate so be aware. £1,520 round up to $3,000
The Moment Before They Appear (it’s a cloud 9 experience)
The Show
What to expect? New Music! In an interview last year Good Man Curt mentioned songs from their latest (yet to be released) album would be played at these shows. This, of course, will not stop people from asking them when a new album is out. There may be a few “under a rock dwellers” who are jumping back on the TFF Fan Fun after a decade off and aren’t aware of ELAHE let alone EGABHID (that’s what were calling it until they elude to a different title). So, be patient and smile. Tell them to get on the website http://www.tearsforfears.com to subscribe and catch up with the latest news. If they travelled far, tell them about the Travel Fan Team so they can get updates and hotel info, etc.
Meet and Greets: It’s really too early to say how we’re going to meet up for fan activities. We certainly are not promising anyone band photo ops. Please understand that the Travel Fan Team does not “officially” organise M&Gs without band prompts or permission. We also do our best to refrain from asking for M&Gs. That’s just too much and unfair to the band. So if you are hell bent on meeting Roland, Curt & Team TFF please contact the festival sponsors and see what VIP packages are available to ticket holders so that your dream can come true. If we are prompted or notified we will send out a roll call and gather people in an extremely organised fashion with security in tow. But right now, there is nothing scheduled. If that changes, it will be noted on Twitter, Facebook and here on the blog in advance of the show.

No frills on this announcement, just straight forward info. Tears for Fears are scheduled to play in Los Angeles at the Forum for the iHeart 80s Party hosted by 102.7 KIISFM. Be sure to explore the website of the radio station as they have a lot of contests and opportunities to win tickets to a wide range of events…not saying they’re giving away tickets to this event but you know how it is. They have giveaways, so sign up.
That’s CLEARLY going to be a stellar show. The concert takes place on Saturday night, the 20th of February at The Forum in Los Angeles, California. Tickets went on sale some time ago. Fans got notice from the Tears for Fears official account just a bit before the tickets went on sale. Prices range from $30 to $135 retail and have already hit 3rd party sellers for much more than that. Third party sellers have tickets around $225 to $491. Again, buy at your own risk but given the short notice, what choice do you have if you really want to be in the front/floor seating? If you want us to help you find these third party tickets, you can send us an email to the Tears for Fears & Kooks – Travel Fan Page
Photo from The Forum
Venue Location: The Forum – 3900 W. Manchester Blvd, Inglewood, California 90305,
Parking is $20 – $40 (preferred parking) depending on which lot you choose – For those who need their private limo to wait on them, there is no charge for that. Limo waiting has a designated spot in the area. Don’t judge…sometimes it’s that crucial.
Accommodations: There are a ton of inexpensive hotels in that area. Our suggestion is the Le Meridien. Prices vary from $200USD+ depending on room type. It’s in the Santa Monica area and as you may have seen from past blog posts, it’s worth it for a short getaway.
Meet & Greets – contact the radio station, this is a third party event.
Hope that helps everyone out.
Cheers,

This was one fun month for those following Tears for Fears online as well as for our new friends from Hong Kong (i.e. Po Po and Mr. Wong to name a few). The band was a hit at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club in HK. Thanks to Mr. Wong we were able to get a cool glimpse behind the scenes as well as great photos from the show. The FCC’s charity is one to be proud of as they aim to take good care of students and see them on their way. As tuition prices hike and life becomes increasingly expensive, it’s awesome to see such a prestigious group looking out for others. Read more about their work on our 2015/2016 Givings post.
Roland tweeted that he arrived first and the others came in not long after. Looks like their hotel may have been the Park Hyatt (and yes we kept that speculation under wraps until long after they were gone). The view of the harbour was outstanding from Curt’s pictures. The band also spent some time with local kids…so nice to see Lady T, Mr. B,, Charlton, Drummer Genius Jamie, Carina…everyone! How awesome!
What a lovely dinner setting …Awesome gift bags for attendees! Hello Kitty at the center. So Kawaii!
The dinner was first and the concert followed. There was a silent auction featuring many amazing pieces of art. This was certainly a red carpet affair with everyone dressed to the nines. Enjoy this link featuring a full array of pictures from the event including the stunning attire of the guests and the presence of many brands plus sponsors.

Great way to follow the show for those that couldn’t go.
Be sure to check out the video on the “Tears for Fears and Kooks” Facebook page – video by Po Po xox
This was the 3rd show that we live tweeted since our inception some years ago. The first one was from Brasil thanks to Marcio, the second was KROQ. Thanks to all who make these events possible and to those who hook us up remotely so fans can be there not just in spirit but online as the concerts take place. While nothing beats Travel Fan life, it’s also nice to know you can get online and follow local concert attendees who Periscope, tweet video and other things for fellow fans if you just *can’t* go. With that said, let’s be respectful of these watermarked (pink winged butterfly) items as well as those noted FCC. If you’re sharing on your wall, note the photographer’s name. They spent their resources to be there and for some of them photography and reporting is their life’s work. Most of their content is protected by law. Be sure to give credit where credit is due.
